National Science Foundation funded outreach project in Utqiaġvik, Alaska.

2019

I collaborated with Kååre Sikuaq Erickson, UIC Science Outreach Coordinator, and David Lipson, a researcher from San Diego State University. Erickson and Lipson taught students at Fred Ipalook Elementary about climate change and the importance of Arctic sea ice. I designed and printed out a large-scale poster with a graph line showing declining Arctic sea ice levels, which the children embellished with artwork depicting marine mammals and other things they love about their home and lifestyle, both of which are under grave threat from climate change.
